The Alumni of Emerson initiative is to showcase the careers, experiences, and insights of Emerson alumni and how their identity intersects.
The genesis of this campaign started with Women of Emerson in 2017, created by a past career counselor, Jessica Chance (Class of 2000). The reason was to highlight the careers and experiences of woman-identifying alum and how their identity intersects.
After some years, PRIDE of Emerson came to be in 2022, alongside Emerson Pride: Careering Authentically. As its sister series, PRIDE of Emerson focus on the LGBTQIA+ community. Later in 2022, Mi Gente de Emerson was developed to spotlight Latino/a/e/x alumni.
In 2023, the Career Development Center continues to expand through Soul of Emerson to showcase Emerson’s Black & African American alumni. In May 2023, Bloom of Emerson was created to spotlight AAPI Emersonians.
