As we come to nearly a full year of remote operations, providing virtual student services during a time of hybrid and online learning, we’re also welcoming our fifth year of Women of Emerson. No doubt, we’ve also developed more technical skills and can now add Zoom to our toolkit. 🙂 What’s also significant is that this past year has given us new alumnae. There are many opportunities that Emerson degrees and experiences give our alumni in order to achieve career success.  The alumnae represented each year reflect just that.

Emerson students and alumni are about invention, re-invention, and impact. There is no shortage of ideas and desires for the future that Emerson students ponder when it comes to diversity and representation in the fields they’re about to enter. At the career center we prepare students for not just the world of work, but stress the collective importance of being a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) for their career development as they take in lessons learned from the real life historical events that have occurred over the last year. Women of Emerson is one of the ways we’re doing that.

This year’s theme is self-care and empowerment. While these words are not unfamiliar to us, there’s always an opportunity to rediscover the words we use with a focus on giving them more depth and meaning.

This year please take time out of your schedules to read, watch, share and post. Click here to see posts from previous years.

Be well!
