Internship Feedback Form: If you are a student, employer, or faculty member, who is participating (or has participated) in a student internship experience, you can share any related thoughts and feedback with the Career Development Center using this form.

Please note that an internship for credit requires course registration. The course is hosted on Emerson College’s Canvas platform and run by Emerson faculty. Tuition payment is required for PDE 100*, 499 and 690 courses.

As a pilot, Emerson College is offering a tuition waiver on a single PDE course (for one credit) per student. This offer is valid through Spring 2025 and does not apply to summer terms.

Eligibility and Requirements (click below)

Steps to request academic credit for an internship

  1. Secure an internship. Use Handshake to search or find one on your own.
  2. Submit an Experience Proposal through Handshake. After review by the ECDC, the faculty member running your course and your site supervisor will be sent your proposal for approval.
  3. Register for the internship course. (View Class Terms & Requirements). Upon approval of your application, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to register for the internship course. For 4 or 8 credits, register for the 499 or 690 internship course in your major. For the 1-credit PDE, register for the 100-level internship course, which is not restricted by major.

* NOTE: 100/499/690 is a required course paired with your internship, which requires tuition payment for its credits and course completion.

Note: Registration for the 499/690 course is open during the regular registration period. After the first day of classes, special permission to register will be required by the Career Development Center. If you do not have an internship application approved by the drop/add date for the term, your 499/690 registration is subject to cancellation.
