The following blog offers several tips to consider prior to attending this week’s Virtual Internship Fairs. As a first step, we recommend registering for the fairs on Handshake using the links below:

  • School of the Arts Virtual Internship Fair, March 16th, 12pm – 3pm EST (Register)
    School of Communication Virtual Internship Fair, March 18th, 12pm – 3pm EST (Register)

Sign Up for Employer Sessions

Once you’ve registered for the fair, there are a few additional steps you’ll need to take…

  1. Sign up for Group or 1-on-1 Sessions: If you haven’t already, you’ll need to sign up for individual meeting times with the employers you want to meet with. This can be done by returning to the Virtual Fair pages themselves, scrolling down, and viewing Available Sessions.
  2. Arrive to Sessions 5 Minutes Early: Sessions will be able to join about 5 minutes before they start. When you have a session coming up, just return to the fair page and you should see “Join” next to the sessions you’ve registered for.
  3. Test Your Video & Sound: Once you join a session, you’ll have a chance to check your video and audio settings. We recommend using Chrome and FireFox as your browser for meetings — these browsers have encountered the least issues during sessions. We also do not recommend joining via mobile and instead using a web browser on your laptop or desktop, if possible.
